Our Mission
A registered charitable organization advancing education equity in Ottawa
Ensuring Every Child Can Attend and Benefit
10787671 Canada Association is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to providing Waldorf-inspired educational programming to students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 in the Ottawa area.
Our purpose is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: quality education is a right, not a privilege. That is why we provide financial assistance to families in need, operate a fully accessible facility, and work every day to build a diverse, inclusive community where every child belongs.

Every year, our charitable programs reach Ottawa children and families who need us most

Waldorf-Inspired Approach
As our chosen educational framework, Waldorf-inspired teaching recognizes that children develop in distinct stages. Our curriculum is designed to engage the whole child — their thinking, feeling, and practical abilities — through age-appropriate methods.
How Our Charitable Programs Work
-
Developmentally Appropriate: Teaching methods that meet each child where they are
-
Arts Integration: Music, visual arts, drama, and movement enrich all subjects at every grade level
-
Experiential Learning: Hands-on activities make abstract concepts meaningful and lasting
-
Urban Nature Program: Outdoor education for Grades 1–8 — spending full days outside to instill reverence for the natural world
-
Community Partnership: Strong relationships between teachers, students, and families are foundational to our model
What Makes Our Programs Distinctive
Special charitable programming elements that set us apart as a teaching institution
Urban Nature Program
Our signature charitable offering for Grades 1–8. Students spend full days outside connecting with the natural world, developing reverence for their environment and building resilience, curiosity, and well-being.
Immersive Learning Blocks
Each day begins with an in-depth exploration of a single subject over a 3–4 week block. This approach allows for deep understanding and prevents fragmented, surface-level learning that is common in traditional schooling.
Practical Arts & Handwork
From knitting and woodworking to sewing and crafts — our handwork programs develop patience, perseverance, and problem-solving. These life skills bridge the connection between thinking and doing for all ages.
A School For Everyone — No Exceptions
Our charitable mandate is inseparable from our commitment to diversity and inclusion. We are actively building a community where every individual — regardless of background, ability, or financial circumstances — feels safe, supported, and valued.
Full Physical Accessibility
Our facilities are designed to accommodate students with diverse physical needs. We work proactively with families to ensure every child can fully participate in all school activities.
Financial Assistance
Financial circumstances should never prevent a child from receiving quality education. Our Financial Assistance Program provides confidential support to qualifying families — please reach out if you need help.
Diverse Community
We celebrate and welcome families from all cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Diversity makes our educational community richer and stronger for every child.
